Personal Potential is a comprehensive counselling service based at Crowle, North Lincolnshire, between Scunthorpe to the east, Doncaster to the west, Goole to the north and Gainsborough to the south. It is run by Dr Carl Stonier, who is amongst the best qualified and longest-in-practice practitioners in the country, and because of this, and the effectiveness of Personal Potential Counselling clients regularly travel from as far afield as Harrogate, Manchester, Rotherham and Grimsby.

I now offer sessions via Skype, so distance is no longer a problem.

Style of Counselling

Integrative, but with the Person Centred Approach, pioneered  by the late Dr Carl Rogers as a foundation. I am trained in all of the 4 basic approaches to therapy - Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic and Transpersonal, and am a world renowned master in Guided Imagery Therapy. I also use hypnotherapy and past life regression therapy where appropriate, and am an Accredited level 3 Advanced Practitioner and Supervisor of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Individual counselling costs have remained unchanged now for 12 years and remain at £40 per 1 hour session. I have been able to keep such low rates by

  1. inviting those who can afford more to pay more if they wish, helping to subsidise therapy for those less able to pay and:-

  2. by charging more realistic rates for organisational consultancy and training courses.
As a special offer the first two sessions are offered at a discounted fee of £60 (i.e. a saving of £20). The normal £40 fee for the third session will be payable in advance at the second session and so on.

Trainee counsellors who require personal therapy as part of their training will be charged £30 per session

The cost for groups will vary depending upon the group size and purpose. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

Similarly, the cost for Employee Assistance Programme packages is negotiable. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

The cost per session for supervision is £40 for qualified counsellors and £30 for trainee counsellors.

It may be possible to offer therapy at reduced fees in some circumstances, so if cost is a barrier, please feel free to contact Dr Carl Stonier to discuss options.
